John Mitchell

JOHN MITCHELL
Chairman

Born and educated in Sydney Australia, John began his working life as a cadet for a National Retail Department Store, Waltons. His talent and willingness to take on responsibility saw him rise to management level at an early age, and this rapid progress through the company saw him head-hunted to assume the role of National Marketing Director for a rival retail chain, Simons Carpets. His flair for promotion and advertising skills then attracted the attention of a small but fast-growing Advertising Agency McCarthy, Watson & Spencer specializing in high profile television campaigns.

John’s role as Account Director, managing several key national retail and brand accounts expanded to encompass helping to prepare new business pitches which ultimately led to acquiring a major retail banking account for the agency.

As Group Account Director, John was responsible for this client’s multi-million dollar advertising and marketing account involving Television, Press, Direct Mail and Customer Acquisition and Retention programs, and for the marketing of their products in retail and commercial finance. His business career developed as he spearheaded the strategic planning and brand management for a select group of major agency clients.

Upon leaving McCarthy, Watson & Spencer, John consulted to numerous advertising agencies in the area of new business acquisitions, strategic planning and business management..

Eight years ago, John moved with his family to the Gold Coast to start his own business in the accommodation and property management industry. Using his marketing and proven management skills, he again successfully built this business in a very competitive market, achieving performance levels unsurpassed in the industry.

John now sits on the board of G-nius as Chairman and brings over 40 years of strategic and brand management experience to our business. His knowledge is critical to our success and ability to service our clients.
